Haycarb was the pioneering supplier of activated carbon to the gold mining industry when the industry switched to this method from the traditional and highly pollutive chemical extraction process in the 1970s.

Haycarb mastered the production of the most technically superior activated carbon for the industry and is still one of the dominant and preferred suppliers to the premium mines of the world, a testament to Haycarb’s superior product and total quality assurance.

Activated Carbon is a carbonaceous, highly porous adsorptive medium that has a complex structure composed primarily of carbon atoms. Activated Carbon can be manufactured from coconut shell, peat, hard and soft wood, lignite coal, bituminous coal, olive pits, and various carbonaceous specialty materials.

Chemical activation or High-Temperature Steam Activation mechanisms are used in the production of activated carbons from these raw materials. The Haycarb Activated Carbon is manufactured from coconut shells.

Haycarb Products for Gold Mining: YAO 60 6×12 and YAO 55 8×16
Today’s gold-mining operations optimize efficiency and output through the use of superior Haycarb gold-recovery carbon technology. The intrinsic hardness, high density, and low platelet content of Haycarb activated carbon products set the industry standard for performance.
Precise particle size distribution and high abrasion resistance of our activated carbon improve the kinetics (R & K values) of adsorption and reduce tail loss in the circuit due to attrition, respectively, and capacity (K value) of gold adsorption.
Testing & Carbon Selection
Haycarb offers the following gold adsorption test facilities and expertise:
Gold activity, loading capacity, rate of adsorption, soft particle %, and platelet % measuring tests, hardness measuring tests, testing and analysis of spent carbon, the expertise of our in-house metallurgist.
